Who can vote in EC Elections?

Only organizations with a current APNIC Member account are eligible to vote.

The person recognized by APNIC as the Corporate Contact manages the voting for each APNIC Member organization. If you do not currently have a Corporate Contact appointed for your Member account, you will need to submit the Corporate Contact form.

Only the Corporate Contact has the right to vote on behalf of the organization, to assign voting rights to another authorized contact of the Member organization, or to appoint a proxy to vote on behalf of the organization.

Assigned voting rights are different from a proxy in two ways. Internal representatives are assigned voting rights, while external representatives are appointed as a proxy. Assigned voting rights remain in place until they are changed or removed and are applicable to other types of APNIC elections, while a proxy appointment is valid for only one election.

Only the Corporate Contact has the right to appoint a proxy to vote on behalf of a Member organization. Authorized contacts with voting rights only are not permitted to do this and must ask their Corporate Contact to appoint a proxy if they are unable to vote.

Proxies may only be appointed by completing the APNIC proxy form. Please refer to the section, Assigning a proxy, for more information.

A Corporate Contact may only assign voting rights using MyAPNIC. The contact to be given voting rights must be a registered MyAPNIC user andneeds to login to MyAPNIC using two-factor authentication to vote online.
