prop-114: Modification in the ASN eligibility criteria

Synopsis

This proposal modifies the eligibility criteria for Autonomous System Numbers so that the absolute requirement to multihome is removed. Under the proposal, an organization is eligible for an ASN assignment if it is planning to use it within next 6 months.

Current status Implemented on 10 February 2016.

ARIN: It is not mandatory but optional to be multihomed in order get ASN.
RIPE NCC: A proposal to remove the multihoming requirement is currently under discussion
LACNIC: Only inter-connect is mandatory not multihoming
AFRINIC: It is mandatory to be multihomed in order to get an ASN.
