All APNIC Members pay annual membership fees to renew the membership. By renewing the membership, Members are entitled to access all APNIC services including the use of IP addresses and AS numbers (ASNs).

The annual membership fee is calculated based on the total IPv4 or IPv6 address holdings in the account. Note, where a Member holds both IPv4 and IPv6 address blocks, the holdings are assessed separately. The annual membership fee is then charged as the greater of these two calculations.

Annual fee calculation

The annual fee is determined by the (fractional) number of bits of address space held, and is calculated as follows:

Annual Fee = (Base Fee) X (Bit Factor)^(Address Bits)

The Annual Fee parameters are as follows:

  • From 1 January 2025:
    • The Base Fee will increase by 4.75%, to AUD 1,236 for Members and AUD 1,421 for Non-Members
    • The Bit Factor will increase to 1.315
  • From 1 January 2026:
    • The Base Fee will increase by 4.75%, to AUD 1,295 for Members and AUD 1,488 for Non-Members
    • The Bit Factor will increase to 1.320
  • From 1 January 2027:
    • The Base Fee will increase by 4.75%, to AUD 1,356 for Members and AUD 1,559 for Non-Members
    • The Bit Factor will increase to 1.325
  • From 1 January 2028, the Base Fee will increase by 4.75% on 1 January each year, unless otherwise determined by the APNIC EC.

Fees for ASNs

From 1 January 2025, each Member, Non-Member, and NIR Member sub-account will be entitled to two ASNs free of charge, with all additional ASNs held subject to an ongoing annual fee of AUD 100. New ASN allocations (in excess of the two free ASNs) will attract an AUD 500 allocation fee from 1 January 2025.

Estimate your fees

The Member fee calculator is available for you to estimate your annual renewal fee. This estimate is based on all your IP resource holdings. When estimating the fee for a new Member, please add AUD 500 (sign-up fee).

New Member fees

The total cost for a new Member will be the once-off sign-up fee of AUD 500, plus the annual membership fee, which is calculated on the size of the approved address space.

New Members receiving Internet number resources through a transfer or business merger and acquisition (in addition to direct delegation from APNIC) will pay the sign-up fee (AUD 500) plus the annual membership fee based on the total address space received into the account. For more information, view the transfer policy.

New Members receiving a transfer of historical resource will pay the sign-up fee (AUD 500), plus the annual membership fee based on the size of the historical resource transfer. For more information, view the transfer policy.

New Members who hold no Internet number resources will pay the sign-up fee (AUD 500) and the Associate Membership annual fee (AUD 500).

All such fees must be made in cleared funds, without any deduction or set-off, and free and clear of any taxes, levies, duties, charges, fees, and withholdings of any nature imposed by any bank, financial institution, governmental, or other body. If such deductions are made, then you must pay to APNIC such additional amounts as are necessary to ensure that APNIC receives the full amount which APNIC would have received but for the deduction.
  • APNIC applies relevant taxes on fees where it is required to do so by local tax authorities, in the economies it services.
