Sub-regional forums

APNIC sub-regional forums

Sub‑regional forums are held between the APRICOT and the APNIC standalone conference, providing ongoing opportunities for dialogue and collaboration throughout the year.

These events bring policy discussions, technical topics, and community updates directly to Members, helping maintain and expand engagement across all sub-regions of the Asia Pacific.

This reflects APNIC's commitment to a community built by Members, for Members. Sub‑regional forums provide:

  • A space to revisit and deepen Policy SIG discussions
  • Additional opportunities for SIGs to convene and address emerging issues
  • Focused conversations on technical and operational topics with subject‑matter experts

Partnering with PITA and SANOG

APNIC will partner with the Pacific Islands Telecommunications Association (PITA) and the South Asia Network Operators Group (SANOG) to deliver the sub‑regional forums.

PITA, which coordinates the Pacific Network Operators Group (PacNOG) events, and SANOG share APNIC's commitment to technical training, capacity building, and community development. Both organizations have a long history of collaboration with APNIC and are natural partners for these sub‑regional initiatives.

Sub-regional forum 1

APNIC will be participating in PITA 30th AGM Business Forum and Expo on 13-14 April 2026.

APNIC will deliver a dedicated program at PITA 30 focused on routing security, IPv6, and key policy and community developments across the region.

APNIC Director General Jia Rong Low will also deliver a keynote addressing resilience, infrastructure sustainability, regional collaboration, and the long‑term future of Internet development in the Pacific.

Alongside these sessions, APNIC will host Member forums and discussions to better understand how it can work with the community more effectively.

This ongoing commitment with the Pacific will also be reflected in the signing of an updated Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between APNIC and PITA.
