Is my organization qualified to receive IPv6 address space from APNIC? And how do I apply for IPv6 addresses?
APNIC policies govern the criteria for Internet resource delegation. To ensure you meet the policy criteria, please check your eligibility.
Existing APNIC Members who hold IPv4 addresses, but do not yet have IPv6 addresses, will automatically qualify for an IPv6 delegation under section 5.1 of the [APNIC 089] IPv6 address allocation and assignment policy. These Members can request an IPv6 delegation by simply clicking on the “Get your IPv6 addresses” icon in MyAPNIC.
Members who do not hold any IPv4 addresses and wish to apply for IPv6 addresses can complete the resource request form via MyAPNIC under the ‘Resources tab”.
If you are not an APNIC Member, please complete the membership and
resource application form to apply for IPv6.
What costs are involved in receiving IPv6 address space from APNIC?
For a new Member receiving only IPv6 address space, you will need to pay the annual membership and a non-refundable IP resource application fee. These fees are invoiced after your initial request is approved.
For an existing Member who has paid the IP resource application fee and the annual membership fee, APNIC does not charge any additional fees for obtaining the initial or subsequent IPv6 delegation. The only fee applicable is the ongoing annual membership fee.
Please see APNIC fees for more information.
Can I get an IPv6 assignment for my Internet Exchange Point (IXP)?
Yes, you may be eligible to receive an IPv6 address assignment under APNIC's IXP policy. Internet Exchange Points are eligible to receive a portable assignment from APNIC to be used exclusively to connect the IXP participant devices to the Exchange Point.
Please review the IXP address assignment - FAQs and the [APNIC-089] IPv6 address allocation and assignment policy.
I am involved in IPv6 R&D. How do I receive address space to support my activities?
Depending on your specific activity, you may qualify under the [APNIC 109] Experimental allocations policy.
Can I get an IPv6 multihoming assignment for my network?
Yes. Please see the criteria of "Small multihoming assignments" section of the [APNIC 089] IPv6 address allocation and assignment policy.
