Requests and modifications

Detailed guidelines on the requirements and procedures for obtaining an AS number are available at the Guide to the APNIC AS number request form (text version). If this is the first time you are requesting an AS number, we recommend you also read the AS number - FAQ.

Please note that all AS number requests are automatically parsed before they are sent to the APNIC hostmaster mailbox. If you complete the web based AS number request form, any errors will displayed immediately after submission. Requests sent via email will receive an automatic response; however, this will be via email.

If you encounter difficulties in getting through the parser, you can submit your request directly to the APNIC hostmaster with your account name in the subject line in addition to the string "[NO-PARSE]". Please only resort to this last method if you are experiencing a lot of difficulty in completing the form successfully.

Once a request has been successfully parsed, you can then expect to hear from the APNIC Hostmaster within the next two to three working days. The parser should cut down the number of iterations of email between the APNIC Hostmaster staff and AS number requestors.

View or modify an existing autnum object

To view or modify an existing aut-num object, please enter the aut-num of interest (for example, AS4777) below. If you wish to delete or return an AS number that is no longer required, please email Hostmaster with your account name in the subject line

Create a new AS number

To create a new AS number, you will need to be a paying member or non-member of APNIC. You will be asked to your APNIC account name. Requests submitted without the correct APNIC account name will not be sent to the APNIC Hostmaster.
