What is the new fee schedule?

APNIC fees for Members and Non-Members will be reduced from January 2015.

The revised fee schedule aims to provide the greatest benefit to the majority of Members, with smaller and new Members receiving sizable discounts.

When does the new fee schedule come into effect?

The new fee schedule will come into effect from 1 January 2015. If your account renewal date is on or after 1 January 2015, your renewal invoice will reflect the new fee schedule.

If your account renewal date is before 1 January 2015, your renewal invoice will reflect the current fee schedule.

How do I find out what my renewal fees will be?

You can find out your renewal fee by using the Fee Calculator in MyAPNIC.

I have just submitted my application for APNIC Membership and resources. Will I pay the new fees?

If your application is approved on or after 1 January 2015, your invoice will reflect the new fees. If your application is approved before 1 January 2015, your invoice will reflect the existing fee schedule.

For new APNIC account holders:

1. How much does a new Membership and IP address resource application cost?

You will pay a once off sign-up fee of AUD 500, plus the Annual Membership fee which is calculated based on the size of the approved IP address space. These fees are payable before receiving your resource delegation.

Example: New membership application for /24 IPv4 addresses

  • Start-up fee (AUD 500) + Annual Membership fee for /24 IPv4 addresses (AUD 1,050)
  • Total fee is estimated to be AUD 1,550

2. How much does it cost for a new Member to receive other IP addresses through transfer, or via business mergers and acquisitions in addition to direct delegation from APNIC?

The total cost is the start-up fee (AUD 500) + the Annual Membership fee based on the total address space received into the account.

3. How much does it cost to be become an APNIC Member and receive no IP delegation?

The total cost is AUD 1,000.

This fee comprises:

  • The Associate Membership fee (AUD 500), and
  • The sign-up fee (AUD 500)

3. How much does it cost for a Membership and receive only AS numbers?

The total cost is AUD 1,000.

This fee comprises:

  • The Associate Membership fee (AUD 500), and
  • The sign-up fee (AUD 500)

APNIC does not charge Members additional fees for AS numbers.

4. How much does it cost a new Member to only receive a transfer of historical resources, or a transfer via a business merger or acquisition?

The cost is a start-up fee of AUD 500 plus the annual Membership fee based on the size of historical resources transfer.

5. How much does it cost a new Member to only receive updates for historical resources registrations?

The total cost comprises:

  • The annual fee (Calculated based on the total IP address space being transferred).

The sign-up fee is waived.

6. In what situations is the sign up fee waived?

The sign up fee is waived in the below scenarios:

  • Critical infrastructure assignments
  • IXP assignments
  • New member accounts to manage historical resources under HRM or HRT
  • Existing Non-Member accounts with historical resources converting to Member accounts

For existing Members:

1. How much does it cost to receive resources through an IPv4 transfer

An existing Member that does not have any IP address resources will be invoiced the annual fee of the transferred IPv4 address space. Their Associate Membership fee will be refunded on a pro-rata basis.

An existing Member account that already has IP address resources will be invoiced the IPv4 transfer fee, which is 20% of the annual fee of the transferred IPv4 resources.

2. How much does it cost to receive resources through a transfer due to a business merger and/or acquisition?

An existing Member that does not have any IP address resources will be invoiced the annual fee of the transferred IP address space. Their Associate Membership fee will be refunded on a pro-rata basis.

An existing Member account that already has IP address resources will not be charged any fees for a transfer due to a merger and/or acquisition. Their next Membership renewal fee will be adjusted based on their total number of IP addresses held in their account.

3. How do I calculate my account's annual renewal fee?

The renewal fee of your account is calculated based on the total number of IP addresses held in your account. Use MyAPNIC to calculate the estimated annual renewal fee.

4. Can I reduce my address holdings and my annual membership fees?

You can reduce your address holdings and your annual membership fees by returning unused IP address space to APNIC. You will need to return the address space at least two working days before your membership expiry date to allow your renewal fees to be re-calculated based on your updated address holding. The minimum IPv4 address block size you can return is a /24.
