Dr. Yuedong Zhang is the Deputy Chief Engineer of the National Computer Network Emergency Response Technical Team/Coordination Center of China (known as CNCERT or CNCERT/CC). It is a non-governmental non-profit cybersecurity technical centre and the key coordination team for China’s cybersecurity emergency response community.
Before that, Dr Zhang was in charge of DNS and IP address operation and management at CNNIC. He and his team implemented several important projects in China, including the construction of national domain name platforms, the deployment of IPv6 and DNSSEC on national domain name platforms, the introduction and deployment of root mirrors, and so forth. He has also undertaken several sub-projects under the China Next Generation Internet (CNGI) project, including “IPv6 upgrading of China domain name system” and was invited as a keynote speaker at several national-level IPv6 seminars. Under his leadership, the CNNIC technical team fixed several functions of the RPKI service, which launched in 2017, and reconnected with the APNIC RPKI platform in 2018.
Dr Zhang is actively involved in technical communities both in China and the Asia Pacific. He also acts as the Trustee of China Communications Standards Association and has a close relationships with many technical folk. Apart from the IP Summit of China IP Address Allocation Alliance, he is one of the core organizers of Asia Pacific Infrastructure Capacity Building Program and has contributed widely to the Asia Pacific community.
