A consensus policy decision from the APNIC 32 Policy SIG Meeting was endorsed by the Executive Council (EC) on Thursday, 3 November 2011.
The EC has endorsed prop-096 Maintaining demonstrated needs requirement in transfer policy after the final /8 phase.
As APNIC is already distributing addresses from the 'final /8', this proposal is scheduled for immediate implementation on Monday, 21 November 2011.
Global policy prop-069
At the request of the APNIC Policy SIG Chairs, the EC acknowledged that prop-069 Global policy proposal for the allocation of IPv4 blocks to Regional Internet Registries is superseded by prop-097 Global Policy for post exhaustion IPv4 allocation mechanisms by the IANA. The EC passed a resolution that the proposal should be abandoned.
