APNIC Call for Comments on new ASO MoU
Call for comments
Comment period is now closed.
On the 1st of April 2004, the Number Resource Organisation (NRO) signed a Letter of Intent with ICANN, documenting their intention to enter into an MoU to form a new ASO within the ICANN structure. Final approval of the proposed ASO MoU is contingent upon public comment periods administered by the Regional Internet Registries (RIRs) of the NRO and by ICANN.
The APNIC Executive Council endorses this proposed agreement with ICANN as a framework which properly balances the roles of communities of interest, the operation of the Regional Internet Registries, and the responsibilities of ICANN; and which promotes a structure of responsible policy making and stable operation of the number resource administrative function.
On behalf of the Executive Council, the APNIC Secretariat issues this call for comments to be submitted no later than 31 May 2004. Comments may be submitted to the nro-comment@nro.net mailing list.
Copies of the Letter of Intent and other documents concerned are available on the NRO website at:
