Re: [Wg-apnic-fees] Results of APNIC fee structure vote (fwd)

Dear Philip

I have consulted with the APNIC EC on this question.

The detailed breakdown of votes by member category could help to reveal the specific votes of individual members. APNIC votes are cast by secret ballot in order to protect the identity of voters, therefore it is not considered appropriate to reveal the detailed breakdown.

I hope this reasoning is clear.

Best regards

Paul Wilson.

COL Chief Technical Officer said the following on 18/9/07 00:59:

Let's put it this way:

Yes No (Row Total) (% of Yes) (% of
                No) (% of Total) Online 278 62
    340 81.76% 18.24% 31.08% Onsite 242
    512 754 32.10% 67.90% 68.92%
    Total 520 574 1094

I find it a little strange. Using Online voting(31.08% of total votes),
278 said "Yes"(81.76%) and 62 said "No"(18.24%). On the contrary, using
Onsite voting(68.92% of total votes), 242 said "Yes"(32.10%) and 512
said "No"(67.90%).

I wonder, what might have caused such a difference between Online voting
and Onsite voting.

I'm sure you are not the only one wondering why there was this
interesting difference, Aniruddha.

A request for Paul:

Would the Secretariat please publish the for and against vote per
membership category.

I feel it would be very helpful to see what the breakdown is per
membership category.

Thanks!
