Presumably, as indicated by Che-Hoo too, the EC can take the membership
vote as a guidance on what their recommendation should be, going
forwards. Given the vote was more or less 50:50, there wasn't
overwhelming rejection of the need for a correction on the fee level.
FWIW, I'm still amazed that anyone expects that the Secretariat can
function with a budget that has effectively been slashed at the rate of
spectacular collapse of the US dollar over recent years. I'd hope that
the minimum the EC recommends is move the operating currency over into
something slightly more stable, whether that is the AU$ or the Euro.
