Re: [Wg-apnic-fees] APNIC membership fee structure proposal
Dear Paul,
Many thanks for your respond.

1. About the Tier Membership for member that already have both IPv4 and
IPv6, is it will be charged as 2 seperate accounts ?
For a member with both IPv4 and IPv6 the tier is assessed separately for
each, and the member then takes the higher tier.
For instance if they have /15 of IPv4 (which is Tier F) and /32 of IPv6
(Tier E) then they would be assessed as Tier F.
Clear for me.
2. About the 50% discount for NIR members: If they have an IPv6, is it
the same fees structure will be apply as in IPv4 ?
The discount would apply to the Tier that is assessed. In the example
above, the annual fee for Tier F, with 50% discount, would be $5760 per annum.
Clear for me.
3. There are several discussion in our member that suggest about the fee
structure for more than a /16:
- Fees are being raised up on reducing of 1 bit (not 2 bits as in the
proposal).
- Fees are not count twicely on each bit.
I am not sure I understand these points however if you wish to propose
some specific modification or amendment, please feel free to do so.
Some of our members, especially the large member are concerning about the
fees that they have to pay are increasing two times.
For example, if they already have a /16 and they would request for up to a
/15, than they have to pay as a /14 for them the fees are very high.
14 F 11520 5760
16 E 5760 2880
What they are purposing is: for the tier less than /16, the count will be
start as reducing of 1 bit and the fees are not the same with the /14.
14 F 11520 5760
15 X ..... .....
16 E 5760 2880
Another question, is this proposal also will eliminate the Small
Multihoming under IPv4 ? since in here you also put the members with tier
/24 , /23 and /22 ?

Ahmad Alkazimy

Paul
