[sig-policy] End of comment period: [prop-033-v001] End site assignment policy for IPv6
Dear colleagues
The eight-week final comment period for the proposal, [prop-033-v001]
"End site assignment policy for IPv6", has now ended. During the
comment period, there were no objections to the proposal. Therefore I
formally request the APNIC Executive Council to endorse this
proposal and consider the implementation issues raised on the mailing
list during the final call for comments period.
Summary of eight-week discussion

The final comment period for the proposal ended on 17 November 2006.
During the comment period, there was discussion on the mailing list
about implementation issues associated with this proposal:
- Initial allocation criteria:
There was discussion about whether the initial allocation
criteria, "have a plan for making at least 200 /48 assignments to
other organizations within two years", would need to be changed
to "at least 200 assignments to other organizations within two
years.
- Assignment registration requirements
There was discussion about whether the IPv6 policy that
"information is registered in units of assigned /48 networks"
would need to be changed to cater for the new end site
assignment size proposed in prop-033-v001.
There were no comments in favour or against the proposal.
