[sig-ipv6] SIG chair election

Dear IPv6 Technical SIG member,

As explained in the IPv6 Technical SIG session at APNIC 23, it was
decided that Chairs and Co-Chairs are to be elected for a two-year
period. To start this cycle, Kazu Yamamoto will step down as Chair of
the IPv6 Technical SIG at APNIC 24.

Thus, APNIC is seeking a volunteer to serve as Chair of the IPv6
Technical SIG. The Chair is a voluntary position whose
responsibilities include:

    - Chairing the SIG session
    - Developing the agenda
    - Posting proposals and information about the SIG to the mailing
      list
    - Encouraging and facilitating discussion on the mailing list
      and at the APNIC meeting

For more information about the role, please see the SIG guidelines at:

    http://www.apnic.net/meetings/archive/sigs/sig-guidelines.pdf

If you are interested in this position, please email an expression of
interest, including a short biography to <sig@apnic.net> and CC
<sig-ipv6-chair@apnic.net>.

The deadline for receiving nominations is 4 September 2007.

There will not be an IPv6 technical SIG at APNIC 24. Therefore, if
there are any volunteers, elections will be held at the Policy SIG on
Thursday 6 September during APNIC 24 in New Delhi, India. If you wish
to be eligible for the position of IPv6 technical SIG Chair, you must
be present at the Policy SIG session in New Delhi.

All SIG Chairs/Co-chairs undertake this work on a voluntary basis. The
APNIC Secretariat speaks on behalf of the community in saying we are
very appreciative of the work done by the Chairs and Co-chairs.

Regards,

// Chair/co-chairs of IPv6 Technical SIG
