APNIC Open Policy Meeting
March 3-7th, 2002

Call For Presentations for the Database SIG

The Database SIG meeting will be held in Bangkok on Tuesday 5th March, 2002 
during the APNIC Open Policy Meeting. This SIG is an open forum to discuss 
database operational and development issues within the Asia Pacific region.

This e-mail is a request for contributions. I'm looking for presentations
of relevance from anyone who is interested in Database issues in the Asia
Pacific region.  

If you would like to take part in this SIG with a presentation, please
send your proposal to xing@cernet.edu.cn, cc'ing sig@apnic.net. Suggestions
for a proposals should be sent no later than the 7th January 2002.  

Requirements

The proposal:
- should be relevant to this special interest group,
- be no more than 1000 words, and
- should describe your perspective on the topic including its pros/cons
  from various aspects.
- should indicate the time required (a time limit of 10-15 minutes
  per presentation will be set)

The schedule is:

   Monday   10 December 2001 - call for proposals by SIG chairs
   Monday    7 January  2002 - Submission of proposal topics closes
   Friday   11 January  2002 - Notification of acceptance of proposals by 
		    SIG chairs
   Monday  28 January  2002  - Submission of papers closes
   Friday   1 February 2002  - Posting of papers & presentations on the 
                                    APNIC web site
   Sunday   3 March 2002     - Open Policy Meeting commences
