   The first issue of i4d, a bimonthly publication on information for
   development, was released quietly this week. Published by CSDMS, an
   NGO involved in developing the use of technologies like GIS, GPS and
   Remote Sensing in rural areas, i4d has Information and Communication
   Technologies (ICTs) at its core.

   The magazine is the first of its kind, and is intended to provide a
   much needed platform for exchange of information, ideas, opinions and
   experiences both within and without the ICT4D (or ICT for Development)
   sector. While several electronic publications do currently exist, i4d
   is the first that addresses the need through the convenience of the
   printed medium, allowing access and reference at remote locations.

   We invite you to browse through this site and explore what it is that
   we are hoping to accomplish. For a limited time, the complete magazine
   is available for download to registered users [free registration is
   available [3]here], while synopses may be perused without
   registration.
