Islamabad Stock Exchange launches Internet-based remote trading

ISLAMABAD (June 24 2003): Islamabad Stock Exchange (ISE) has offered
the internet-based remote trading service to one of its brokerage
houses, says a press release issued here on Monday.
The concept of remote trading services has been launched for the
first time by the ISE management.
The first connection was provided to M/s Excel Securities (Pvt)
Limited, a corporate member at its Faisalabad Branch.
The brokerage house was inaugurated on Monday by Aftab Ahmed Ch.,
Managing Director, ISE.
In his address, Aftab stated that the ISE was vigorously pursuing its
goal of obtaining technological edge over the other bourses and all
efforts were focused to bring more and more efficiency and
transparency in trade, boosting the confidence of the investors.
Throwing light on the remote trading system, he said that the system
was based on the state of the art technology and the participants
would be benefited to a great extent.
This system was capable of bringing a revolution in the trade volumes
and would change the outdated culture of the stock markets.
He said that the system was quite proficient to be expanded outside
the geographical boundaries of the country and very soon the overseas
Pakistanis would also be able to make environment through the ISE's
remote trading system.
He said that adequate measures were ensured to protect the system as
well as participants from any cyber offences, Aftab Chaudhry added.
