The Division for Public Administration and Development Management of the
United Nations Online Network in Public Administration and Finance (UNPAN)
is soliciting self-nominations from e-government managers in developing
countries to participate in an experts' meeting on "New ICT and
E-Government" to be held in Mexico City in November 2003.

Ad Hoc Group of Experts Meeting on New ICTs and E-government, Workshop for
the 5th Global Forum on Reinventing Government

November 2003, Mexico

About

The Group of Experts Meeting is a Capacity-Building workshop held in
conjunction with the 5th Global Forum on Reinventing Government. The
workshop will examine three primary facets of new ICTs and e-government: 1)
The most common, generic difficulties with the development of e-government
in the world; 2) The response of the emerging ICTs to these specific
difficulties; and 3) The future of ICT and where the trends are going to
bring us 10 - 20 years from now.

Call for Nominations

UNDESA has financial resources to invite 20 participants to the "New ICT and
E-government" Capacity-Building Workshop that will be held in conjunction
and as part of the 5th Global Forum on Reinventing Government, in Mexico
City, 5-6 November 2003. We are looking for qualified senior participants
from countries with developing economies, especially from LDCs.

If you are a manager of the e-government development programme in your
country, or a manager of an e-government application in the public
administration of your country, and you believe that you and/or the
e-government development programme in your country can benefit from your
participation in the above workshop, please nominate yourself and send to
Jerzy Szeremeta ( szeremeta@un.org ): your name, contact information
(including the e-mail
address and postal address), official title, and a 2-3 sentence presentation
of reasons why you believe that you or the e-government programme in your
country could benefit from your participation in the Workshop in Mexico
City. The self-nominations must reach us before 31 July 2003.

We will publish the list of those selected on this website.

All those who send self-nominations will receive free of charge a printed
copy of the "2003 World Public Sector Report: e-Government".
