I am organising a conference entiled "Converging Responsibility -
Broadcasting and the Internet in Developing Countries". It is an
initiative of the Friedrich Ebert Foundation and will be held in
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia September 4-6, immediately before the annual
meeting of the International Institute of Communications, which will
be held in the same city Sept. 7-9.

One of the major themes we will look at is how broadcasters can
provide a community gateway to the knowledge infrastructure, often in
cooperation with telecentres and sometimes even operating their own
telecentres or cybercafés. Even when they are not associated with
telecentres, the objective of providing collective access to the
benefits of ICT is the same.

The URL for the conference is http://www.comunica.org/kl/ .

Please have a look at it and send me any comments or suggestions you
might have.

Thanks.
