Subject: Global Indus Technovators Awards 2003

The Indian Business Club at Massachusetts Institute of Technology
(MIT) is instituting the Global Indus Technovators Awards, 2003, to
honor 20 people of South Asian origin from around the world who have
made substantial contributions to the development of technologies
that possess the potential for widespread impact.

Manish Bajaj, President of the Indian Business Club, says, "Our
effort is to spread a greater awareness about the contributions of
the South Asian community. Being at MIT, we are in a unique position
to leverage the technical expertise of the people around us to
recognize promising young technology innovators".

Nominations could be from either a research or an entrepreneurial
perspective. Some broad areas of technology that could serve as
guidelines include biotechnology, medicine and healthcare,
information technology, materials and devices, energy, and
developmental work.

Nominees must be of South Asian origin, and under the age of 40. The
call for nominations will be open until May 31, 2003. The nominations
will be screened and finally evaluated by an eminent panel of judges.
The screening committee will consist of doctoral and post-doctoral
students from MIT and professionals from the Greater Boston area.

A final awards ceremony will be held at MIT in October 2003.

industry and academia.
