if the apps were correctly writen only the APIs need to be re-written.
there is a 5-star example: gnomemeeting (http://www.gnomemeeting.org)
as far as i was told only 10 lines were changed to enable IPv6 on that
particular app.

nice sense of humour...
that is still a big problem, but unfortunately we are yet to see most of
the ISPs:
+ doing BGP4+ with other ISPs locally (at some IXPs)
+ getting native IPv6 transit from their upstream(s)
(yes, the *real* problem here is still few carriers having it...)
