question of control was easy. The people that

Domain Wars Rage On
A Florida company that's fighting for an all-porn
section of the Internet isn't taking no for an answer.
Earlier this month, Jupiter (Fla.)-based ICM Registry
got word that the Internet Corporation for Assigned
Names and Numbers (ICANN), which regulates Web
addresses and domain names, would not set up a .xxx
domain. Now, ICM Registry is taking its battle to
court. Its target: the U.S. government.

once-hot market left for dead after the tech market
crashed in 2000, are in play again. The difference:

Policy Issues relating to IDN at the top-level -
Preliminary Issues Report
On request from the GNSO Council, ICANN staff has
prepared a preliminary Issues Report that sets out
policy issues involved with the proposed introduction
of IDNs into the root zone of the DNS. The GNSO
Council has followed the report's recommendation to
establish a joint working group in coordination with
the ccNSO to analyze, prioritize, and select issues
for further policy development.

WIPO spricht "schweiz.ch" der Schweiz zu
Die Weltorganisation für geistiges Eigentum (WIPO) hat
die Domainnamen schweiz.ch, suisse.ch und svizzera.ch
der Schweizerischen Eidgenossenschaft zugesprochen.
Die Schweiz könne somit endlich unter dem eigenen
Ländernamen offiziell auftreten und dadurch den
Erwartungen der Internetnutzer gerecht werden, freut
sich die Schweizerische Bundeskanzlei. Sie hatte die
WIPO im Februar angerufen, nachdem sie sich nach
eigenen Angaben seit Jahren um eine Übertragung der
Domain bemüht hatte.

Importantes Reducciones de Tarifas Anunció LACNIC
Durante su Reunión Anual
Una reducción de tarifas en el monto anual de
membresía que va del 5 al 15 % fue anunciada por
LACNIC. Esta importante información fue proporcionada
por Raúl Echeberría, en su calidad de Director
