Teens do their own thing online
A national survey by internet safety advisory body
NetAlert and Ninemsn has found that while 71 per cent
of parents believe their children use the internet for
research, only 23 per cent of teens said they actually
did so.

Eine aktuelle australische Studie von ninemsn und
NetAlert http://www.netalert.net.au beweist, dass die
Mehrheit der Jugendlichen zwischen 16 und 18 Jahren
ihre Onlineaktivitäten vor den Eltern lieber geheim
hält. Während sich die ältere Generation offenbar in
Sicherheit wiegt und die Mehrzahl der
Erziehungsberechtigten angeben, den Medienkonsum ihrer
Kinder bewusst zu kontrollieren und zu steuern,
scheinen dies die Teenies ganz anders zu beurteilen:
So behaupteten 71 Prozent der befragten Eltern, ihre
Kinder würden das Internet für ernsthafte
Recherchezwecke nutzen, während nur 23 Prozent der
Jugendlichen dies bestätigten.
