Iraq pictures spark a war over free speech
THE internet has mansions, cathedrals, shining free-
ways; it also has plenty of ghettos and sewers. The
site nowthatsfuckedup.com (NTFU) is not salubrious.
Its main function is the sharing of pictures of wives,
girlfriends or neighbours, preferably without the
hindrance of textiles. About 235,000 registered users
post and peruse an incalculable number of nude and
pornographic photos.

de: Media institute fines websites
The State Media Institute of Lower Saxony (NLM) has
imposed fines of 5,000 euros apiece to two websites
that depicted girls as sexual objects. The websites
that showed minors in "an unusual pose that draws
attention to their sexuality" are based in Hanover and
Garrel (near Cloppenburg). The State Media Institute,
which supervises private radio stations, has also been
monitoring the content of websites since 2003, though
the two fines are the first cases in Lower Saxony
according to a spokesperson of NLM quoted by dpa.
