- meaning that all the details of who owns any .org domain
are unobtainable.

WIPO directs US firm to transfer domain name to NIIT
In a major victory for NIIT, pioneer in imparting computer
education in the country, WIPO, an apex body of arbitration
and mediation, has evicted an American firm from operating
its pornographic website by robbing the mark of the Indian
company, according to NIIT counsel Pravin Anand.

Member States Discuss the Revision of International
Trademark Law Treaty (TLT)
The further simplification and streamlining of procedures
for obtaining and maintaining a mark was discussed by
member States attending the WIPO Standing Committee on the
Law of Trademarks, Geographical Indications and Industrial
Designs (SCT) which met in Geneva from April 28 to May 2,
2003. The meeting, attended by delegations from 79 member
States, 3 intergovernmental organizations and 12
non-governmental organizations, addressed the future
revision of the Trademark Law Treaty (TLT), the question of
the protection of Geographical Indications (GIs) and domain
names.

Kid-friendly Web zone to be online in September
Telecommunications company NeuStar Inc. on Tuesday said it
plans to launch a "child-friendly" Internet zone free of
violence, pornography and other adult material in
September. Privately held NeuStar said the ".kids.us"
Internet domain will be open to U.S. residents and
businesses on Sept. 4, while registered trademark holders
will be able to reserve their marks during a special
pre-registration period from June 17 to Aug. 15.

On May 13, 2003, the Canadian Internet Registration
Authority (CIRA) learned that an organization named
