MSNBC stories on the CIPA court case

Hi all

Two opposing stories on the current court case about the Children's
Internet Protection Act in the USA, one by Brock Meeks and the other
by Donna Rice Hughes.

Cheers

In the name of the children
Anti-porn crusaders hide behind our kids

By Brock N. Meeks
The Children's Internet Protection Act is nothing more than the
latest offensive in the moralistic jihad against pornography. It is a
key offensive in the culture wars camouflaged by the twisted rubric
of "protecting children." Shame on its soldiers. This war exploits
children by using their collective innocence as a rhetorical shield
in a vicious verbal crossfire that has simply not yet spilled over
into violence.

Filters don't censor, they protect our kids
Foes of Internet filter law don't understand the dangers of online
porn

By Donna Rice Hughes
Libraries don't stock videos of "Deep Throat" and schools don't
provide students with copies of Hustler. Yet any child with
unrestricted Internet access, in school or at the public library is
only a couple of mouse-clicks away from exposure to much harder core
pornography.
