[Apnic-announce] Announcing the Third APNIC Members andStakeholders Survey

To APNIC members, friends, and others

This message is being sent to you as a member or stakeholder of APNIC,
the Asia Pacific Network Information Centre.

The APNIC Executive Council (EC) has recently commissioned the next
official survey of APNIC's community, to be conducted by the
international Financial and Consulting firm KPMG. This will be the
third APNIC Members and Stakeholders Survey (following surveys in 1999
and 2001).

The aims of this survey are again to widely canvas the views and inputs
of APNIC's community, and to contribute to APNIC's future planning
processes. As an open membership-based organisation, APNIC will value,
and act on, the results of this survey, in our genuine efforts to
continuously improve services and activities.

Unlike previous surveys, this activity will be based primarily on
structured questionnaires, rather than interviews and meetings. This is
to reduce cost and to allow more precise and structured feedback about
APNIC's specific activities, priorities, and budget allocations.

As in previous surveys, responses will be compiled by KPMG, who will
protect the anonymity of all contributions. Responses will be accepted
in any of the major languages of the Asia Pacific region.

The APNIC EC strongly encourages all interested parties to participate
in this important process. Full details of how to participate will be
available shortly. We hope to present preliminary results of the survey
at the coming APNIC Open Policy Meeting, to be held in Fiji later in
2004.

In the meantime, for information on past APNIC surveys, please visit
the APNIC website at:

We do hope that you will assist by contributing to this important activity.

Best regards,

Paul Wilson,
Director General
APNIC.
