Urgent system maintenance - 18 July 2003

APNIC is conducting urgent software upgrades to Cisco routers in our
network today, 18 July 2003.

This action is being taken to remove a vulnerability to
denial-of-service attacks that has been identified by Cisco Systems in
the software running on their routers.

APNIC services such as web access, whois and reverse DNS will be
disrupted for five minute intervals. To minimise service disruptions the
upgrades will be spread over the following times:

  Time (UTC + 10 hrs)
  -----------------
  12.00 pm
  12.20 pm
  12.40 pm
