Attributes of role objects

Role attributes
The following describe the mandatory and optional attributes in a role.
Mandatory attributes

role |
The full name of an administrative, technical or zone contact person specified in another object. |
address |
Full postal address for the role account. |
phone |
Telephone number for the role function. |
The e-mail address for the role account. To report spam or network abuse, please use the email specified here. |

admin-c |
The NIC-handle of an on-site contact person object. As more than one person often fulfils a role function, there may be more than one admin-c listed. In the web interface, the admin-c attribute contains a link to the person object the NIC-handle belongs to. |
tech-c |
The NIC-handle of a technical contact person or role object. As more than one person often fulfils a role function, there may be more than one tech-c listed. In the web interface, the tech-c attribute contains a link to the person or role object the NIC-handle belongs to. |
nic-hdl |
The NIC-handle of the role object. Example: SNOC100-AP |
mnt-by |
The identifier of a registered mntner object used for authorisation and authentication. In the web interface, the mnt-by attribute contains a link to the specified mntner. |
changed |
The email address of who last updated the database object and the date it occurred. Every time a change is made to a database object, this attribute will show the email address of the person who made those changes. This is not to be used as a contact address. |
source |
The name of the database from which the data was obtained. |
Optional attributes

fax-no |
The fax number of the role function. |
trouble |
Can be used to include details on where to send abuse complaints. |
remarks |
General remarks. May include a URL or instructions on where to send abuse complaints. |
notify |
The e-mail address to which notifications of changes to an object should be sent. When this attribute contains dbmon@apnic.net, it means APNIC staff are notified of changes to the object. Do not send spam or hacking complaints to this address. |
