WGIG
The Working Group on Internet Governance (WGIG) was established by the Secretary-General of the United Nations in accordance with the established during the 2003 Geneva phase of the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS). The Asia Pacific region had seven representatives in WGIG. For more information on these representatives, see APNC news item, Working Group on Internet Governance (WGIG) formed (25 November 2004).
Discussion on Internet governance took place within the community in the interim period before the members of the WGIG were formally announced. For example:

WGIG recommendations
The Report of the Working Group on Internet Governancewas published in June 2005. At the 2005 Tunis Phase of WSIS, the WGIG launched a book containing essays by the WG's members, Reforming Internet Governance: Perspectives from the Working Group on Internet Governance.
